A Quiet Season on the Sado

After several seasons navigating the Douro Valley, Marma enters a new chapter. The same slow philosophy, the same meticulous attention to detail, now by the sea.

Pop-Up Comporta

Marma Pop-Up Comporta is a temporary nautical operation conceived as a pilot project, designed to explore a new territory while remaining faithful to the brand’s essence, intimate, curated experiences rooted in nature, time, and authenticity. For a period of 48 days, Marma will establish a discreet presence in the Comporta region, bringing the spirit of the Douro to the Atlantic coast.

Rather than offering a wide catalogue, the project focuses on three signature experiences, each carefully crafted, intentionally intimate, and deeply connected to the unique character of the Sado estuary.

Sunrise

Quiet departures at first light, when the estuary still belongs to birds, mist, and silence. A nature-focused outing guided by the rhythms of the estuary. The Sado is one of Portugal’s most important wetland ecosystems, home to a rich diversity of resident and migratory birds. Birdwatching is not an activity here, but part of the moment.

Price: 2.720€

Floating Picnics

A long drift through calm waters, anchoring in hidden corners of the estuary. Each picnic is curated by a local chef, a surprise selection of seasonal, locally sourced products that reflect the territory and its rhythms. Nothing hurried, nothing staged, just time, flavour, and landscape unfolding together. Available as a slow morning or a late-afternoon escape, these three-hour departures blur the line between meal and experience.

Price: 2.970€

Sunset

The day slows, the light softens, and the estuary turns to gold. A quiet navigation for those who prefer to watch rather than rush, accompanied by champagne and the simple pleasure of being present as evening arrives. This experience prioritises atmosphere over itinerary.

Price: 3.230€

Each outing is conceived as a self-contained narrative, a brief journey shaped by light, silence, flavour, and place.

At its core, MARMA POP-UP Comporta proposes a distinctly Portuguese interpretation of slow living, understated, sensory, and deeply connected to land and water. An experience designed not for spectacle, but for memory.

For partners, this initiative offers the opportunity to be part of something rare: a carefully scaled project with strong identity, high storytelling value, and natural alignment with premium hospitality.

Its temporary nature makes each departure finite, each collaboration meaningful, and each season impossible to replicate.

Schedule Guided

Nothing here runs on a fixed schedule.
All departures follow the tides, unfolding only when conditions align, making each experience rare, exclusive, and impossible to replicate
